Bella Hadid’s former boyfriend, Adan Banuelos, is facing legal trouble following the couple’s recent breakup.
Just days after reports surfaced that the supermodel and the champion horseback rider had ended their relationship after two years together, Banuelos was arrested in Texas on January 31 for public intoxication, according to records from the Parker County Jail. He was later released after posting a $386 bond.
The arrest comes shortly after multiple outlets reported that Hadid, 29, and Banuelos, 36, had gone their separate ways following a two-year relationship. Neither has publicly addressed the split.
Hadid previously opened up about how the two met after she moved to Texas to be closer to family while managing her ongoing battle with Lyme disease. At the time, her mother, Yolanda Hadid, and then–fiancé Joseph Jingoli were building a home in the state.
Speaking to British Vogue in an interview published May 13, Hadid described that period of her life as deeply transitional. She recalled moving onto her family’s farm at age 26, saying her loved ones encouraged her to come stay where she could ride horses, rest, and focus on healing.
“So I go,” Hadid explained. “I’m with my stepdad. We move cows, we’re on trail rides, and I start to feel a little better, though I’m still dealing with my own things. Then the next day, I meet my boyfriend.”
Hadid said she was instantly drawn to Banuelos, describing his presence as “a gust of fresh air.” She also shared that starting a family has long been a priority for her.
“Family is on my mind,” she said. “I can’t wait to be a mom.”
While marriage hasn’t been a lifelong dream for her, Hadid explained that becoming a mother feels essential to her happiness.
“I never grew up thinking about a big wedding or marriage,” she said. “I’ve always had this vision of being a mother. That’s something I know is for me, and I truly believe it would make me happy.”
