Maya Hawke and Christian Lee Hutson have officially tied the knot.
The Stranger Things actress, 27, and the singer-songwriter, 35, were married in a surprise Valentine’s Day wedding in New York City on Saturday, Feb. 14.
Maya’s famous parents — Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman — were both in attendance, along with several of her Stranger Things castmates, including Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery.
For the ceremony, Maya wore a white wedding dress paired with an oversized, feathery winter coat, while Hutson opted for a classic tuxedo. Thurman, 55, wore a light blue gown with matching shoes, and Ethan, also 55, chose an all-black ensemble.
Hawke and Thurman, who were married from 1998 to 2005, share two children: Maya and son Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke, who also attended the wedding. Ethan is also father to daughters Clementine Jean Hawke and Indiana Hawke with his wife, Ryan Shawhughes Hawke. Thurman shares daughter Luna with ex-fiancé Arpad Busson.
Hutson confirmed his engagement to Maya last year during an interview. When host Julie Slater referred to Maya as his fiancée while discussing his song “Carousel Horses” from Paradise Pop. 10, which features Phoebe Bridgers and Hawke, Hutson simply replied, “Yeah.”
Two months later, Maya was photographed in Manhattan wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger. That same month, the couple made their red carpet debut at the opening night of John Proctor Is the Villain, where Maya attended to support co-star Sadie Sink at New York City’s Booth Theatre.
The couple also appeared together at the Prada Fall/Winter 2025 show during Milan Fashion Week on Feb. 27. Maya later shared a photo of them sitting front row on Instagram on March 3.
Maya and Hutson first met years ago while working on music together. The New York-based musician opened for Phoebe Bridgers on tour from 2022 to 2023 and appeared on Maya’s 2024 album, Chaos Angel.
In February 2024, Hutson shared a Valentine’s Day post featuring a photo of the pair sitting together on a couch. “The first song from Maya’s new record, Chaos Angel, is out now. I love this song. I love this record. Can’t wait to share the rest of it,” he wrote.
That summer, Maya posted candid photos of herself and Hutson on Instagram, including shots of them lying on a bed and traveling together. “I am lucky enough to know this guy @christianleehutson,” she wrote. “He is a poet, musical genius.” She also shared that she was “lucky enough to write with him” on his album Paradise Pop. 10.
During a July 2024 appearance on The Zach Sang Show, Maya opened up about their relationship. “It’s awesome. I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends,” she said. “They know you — not just as someone to project an image of a perfect girlfriend onto, but as a real person with feelings.”
